In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Dana Irvine about a topic that has shaped much of my professional life: longevity, menopause, and what it truly means to age well.

My journey in medicine began in traditional clinical practice. For many years I worked within a model that largely focused on diagnosing disease after it had already developed. Over time, I began to ask a deeper question: What if we approached aging differently? What if we focused not only on treating illness, but on preserving vitality, function, and beauty as the body changes over time?

That question led me toward the field of longevity medicine.

In our conversation, we discuss the profound impact that menopause and hormonal transitions have on women’s health. These changes are not simply cosmetic or emotional shifts—they represent a complex physiological transition that affects metabolism, cognition, bone health, cardiovascular health, and the integrity of the skin.

Too often, women are told that these changes are simply something to endure. I believe that perspective is outdated.

Women deserve to understand what is happening inside their bodies and to have access to thoughtful, science-based strategies that help them maintain energy, confidence, and healthspan.

During the episode, we also explored several of the tools I use in my practice to support patients during these transitions.

One of these is IV nutrient therapy, which allows us to deliver vitamins and micronutrients directly into the bloodstream. When nutrients bypass the digestive tract, their bioavailability can be significantly higher, especially for patients whose gut absorption is compromised.

Another important topic we discussed is peptide therapy. Peptides are small chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. Certain peptides can support hormonal balance, metabolic health, tissue repair, and even cognitive function. When used responsibly and under physician guidance, they represent a fascinating frontier in longevity medicine.

But perhaps the most important theme of our conversation had little to do with treatments at all.

It had to do with self-acceptance.

Aging is often framed as a battle to be fought. I see it differently. Aging is a biological journey that deserves both respect and intelligent intervention. Beauty, in my view, is not merely cosmetic—it is deeply connected to vitality, posture, metabolic health, and the way we inhabit our bodies.

When women understand what is happening within them, they gain the power to participate actively in their own health.

That is the future of anti-aging medicine.

Not quick fixes.

Not empty promises.

But personalized, physician-guided strategies that support the body’s natural capacity for resilience and renewal.

If you’re curious about the evolving science of longevity—or simply interested in understanding your body more deeply—I hope you’ll enjoy this conversation.
