The active ingredient in Restylane® is hyaluronic acid, a substance that you may be familiar with as a popular ingredient in numerous skin care products. Not only does hyaluronic acid have an anti-aging effect when applied topically, it is also an excellent dermal filler ingredient due to its ability to attract moisture into skin tissue. After injection, Restylane® immediately goes to work to add thickness and hydration to your skin to diminish the signs of lines and wrinkles.

Juvederm® is somewhat similar to Restylane® in that it contains hyaluronic acid. But Juvederm® also contains an added ingredient called lidocaine to help ensure your comfort during your treatment. Like all dermal fillers, Juvederm® will eventually be absorbed by your body and follow-ups will be required to maintain your results.
