What is a Non-Surgical Facelift?

What is a Non-Surgical Facelift?

Did you know that your skin grows throughout your life? However, as your skin continues to grow after perimenopause or menopause, it can accelerate skin failure. Early signs and symptoms of skin failure can appear as a loss of collagen support and elasticity, leading to sagging skin folds and a general loss of facial architecture. People often complain about issues like drooping eyes, hollows under their eyes, deepening smile lines even when not smiling, loss of jawline definition, and under-chin skin laxity.

Aging disrupts all organs of the human body, but the facial skin, being the most exposed part of the largest organ, reveals the age of our system the earliest.

Until a decade or two ago, the only available treatment for chronic skin failure and its resultant sagging was to have the failing parts of the skin excised by your favorite plastic surgeon every 7 to 10 years. But thankfully, this has changed!

Ultherapy is one of my favorite disrupters in the world of non-surgical aesthetics. We are now able to harness the energy of ultrasound frequencies to bind your skin together and hold it firmly as you go through menopause, weight changes, hormonal shifts, gravity, and time. Ultherapy, a device manufactured by the renowned French company Merz, is recommended twice a year after menopause, depending on your skin’s age and stage of failure.
